Jim Kaskade serves as CEO of Austin-based Infochimps, the leading Big Data Platform-as-a-Service provider. Jim is a visionary leader within both large as well as small company environments with over 25 years of experience building hi-tech businesses, leading startups in cloud computing enterprise software, software as a service (SaaS), online and mobile digital media, online and mobile advertising, and semiconductors from their founding to acquisition. 

Jim joined Infochimps after serving as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at PARC, a Xerox company, where he helped advance the Big Data program. His work helped PARC understand how to best integrate its in-memory data processing technologies and high-performance data graph analytics to the burgeoning online services ecosystem, with a focus on predictive analytics for the retail sector. 

Kaskade was an early advocate of Platform-as-a-Service at SIOS Technology, Inc., a publicly traded firm headquartered in Japan, where he was Chief of Cloud, and responsible for the company’s corporate cloud strategy, as well as expanding the company’s global footprint in the US.

Prior to SIOS, Kaskade was CEO of StackIQ, a leading cloud startup and Big Data operating system provider. Kaskade started his analytics and data warehousing career at Teradata in 1988 where he initiated Teradata’s in-database analytics and data mining programs, establishing his track record for leading Big Data and cloud technology companies to success at scale.
